This on-going series began with the idea that objects are mnemonic devices that also can be seen as baggage. I am interested in how others respond to the physical objects around them. Do they assign meaning to lifeless objects? Are there items that elicit emotional responses? What are the stories behind these objects? I am creating a portrait series in which I ask my subjects to collect their own objects that are embedded with memory. I position them in front of a white backdrop and arrange the objects as an outfit, always concealing the face. These portraits do not reveal the identity of the subjects, rather represents the subject through personal, sentimental objects.
